I feel like an Alpha tester for Tuneskit, not even a Beta tester, we are seeing behavior that is pre-pre-pre-release behavior, the programmers have a lot of work to do to make this ready for Alpha/Beta, let alone actual public release. One phone got error -79, another phone got -78, suggested running as root, try CLI mode, then got -77, and is now totally black screen, not responsive to pushing any buttons – is that what they call a brick?Īfter unplugging fr a few hours, then re-plugging in the phone,I'm back to "name and password please" - OK, it's NOT a brick, it's just no different after TunesKit Activation Unlocker. Windows 7 on a BIOS computer runs the Tuneskit Activation Unlocker program and does download and does install the Checkra!n program into a USB drive, but then a BIOS computer can’t boot from a UEFI drive … so, go back to the Windows 10 UEFI computer to boot.įollow the instruction at web pages we are sent to by the Tuenskit Activation Unlocker program.īUT, my phones have OS versions NOT compatible with Checkra1n, so I either figure out what version is needed, and upgrade a locked phone, or I can’t use these programs. Windows 10 on a UEFI computer will not even install the Checkra1n software through Tuneskit Activation Unlocker, it exits the program ungracefully to a blank screen, and has no error or termination message, and the program is just gone from the screen. This tries to install Checkra1n from Checkra.in, a MAC- or Linux-only program, onto a blank USB thumb drive. Has ANYONE tried this successfully, and gotten a working untethered phone? Really? Tell us. Try to use it as a phone, and Apple says “hey, SIGN IN!” and it stays locked until successfully sign in with the original email and password.
I’ve seen and done this before, it’s temporary and NOT a phone, it’s a WiFi hand-held computer only.
